Votetakers Comments:
Many thanks to all voters for remembering to include their real names and e-
mail addresses on their votes. Many thanks also for including the most
entertaining collection of signatures and extra header lines I've yet seen
while taking a vote.
One person took the "PLEASE RANK THE ABOVE OPTIONS IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE"
instruction too literally and rearranged the order in which the options
appeared on the voting paper. Please don't do this.
Many apologies for the length of time it took me to produce these results.

RATIONALE: (including Summary of Discussion)
The World Mornington Crescent Championships are going to take place
in October this year. Crescent is a game with a very long history
which is frequently discussed in soc.culture.british. With the World
Championship it is hoped that there will be additional interest in
Mornington Crescent.
Currently there are Mornington Crescent societies in Seventeen
countries.
Five of these countries (England, Scotland, Wales, USA, Italy) will
take part in this years championship. The Japanese, Canadian and
German teams hope to take part next year.
Summary of Discussion:
The majority of people responding to the RFD in unnc have said they
would be in favour of the group. The name, however, is undecided, which
is why I've requested a Condorcet vote.
The naming options are the top four from the strawpoll that was held to
reduce the number of options to be voted on, and, somewhat ironically,
don't include the originally proposed name (uk.games.cresent).

Chess. In addition others are required because of the need to
encompass the different topologies of the various Underground
networks.
In will also serve as a forum for discussing the various strategies
employed by world class players such as Tim Brooke-Taylor and the
late, great, Willie Rushton.
Finally it will serve as a medium for playing the game itself.
