Summary of Mail Received During the Nominations Period

7 messages were received to the Nominations Address, of which:

2 were valid nominations which were later confirmed
1 was rejected as the would be nominator put the names of two
candidates on the nomination form, with himself as sole nominator
4 were test messages by the votetaker to ensure the forwarding was
working correctly following the DNS issues on the first day

Two nominations were received. The Committee had three vacancies for the
Open Class, therefore no Election was necessary and both candidates were
elected unopposed.

I've been doing this job for the past three years, I'm happy to continue
if that's what the electorate wants.

Votetaker's Comments

I think it's safe to say that this is the first time that I can recall
there being insufficient candidates for the OPEN class to not need an

The last record I can find of there being less candidates is the 2000
Committee Elections, where Peter Corlett was elected unopposed as a New
Class candidate.

After the initial DNS-related teething troubles, the rest of the process
has gone fairly smoothly, apart from the person listed above who didn't
read the nomination instructions.

Barry, as ever, ran a faultless operation making my job as
secondary votetaker extremely easy. Needless to say I also think
that the shortage of nominations is notable.
