VOTETAKER'S COMMENTS:

A straightforward vote with the exception of the spamcop.net ballot. The
vote acknowledgement resulted in the receipt of a reply-token because
the voter failed to whitelist the address of the votetaker. The votetaker
responded to the reply-token on this occasion and UKVoting have adjusted
their systems slightly to circumvent that particular problem in future,
however it may not prove practical to accommodate all antispam schemes.

Voters are reminded that it is their responsibility to vote using an address
which UKVoting can validate. It may not be practical in a busy vote for the
votetaker to jump though a variety of manual hoops imposed by customised
antispam schemes. Vote acknowledgements which generate reply-tokens or
similar encumbrances could result in those votes being discarded.

RATIONALE: uk.community.ambulance

There are wide regional variations bewteen ambulance services in the UK.
There is a desire for greater communication between staff at all levels
across UK ambulance services to compare, discuss and request information on
such matters. Those with interests in the private and voluntary sectors as
well as the NHS trusts will have a valuable forum for discussion.

- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION: uk.community.ambulance

In the first paragraph of the charter, the words "...including other medical
personnel and ambulance enthusiasts" has been removed, as suggested. It was
felt that the preceeding line welcoming contributions, the term "other
parties or induviduals" included all interested parties and therefore made
this last section of wording unnecessary.

CHARTER: uk.community.ambulance

This newsgroup is for issues concerning and relating to Ambulance Services
across the UK - including not only those run as NHS trusts but also
voluntary and private sectors, all of whom have little in the way of
inter-communication. Contributions are welcome from staff employed by these
services, their managers and other parties or individuals with an interest
in the Ambulance services.

This is a forum for requesting and exchanging information and views
regarding the widely varying policies, procedures, drugs and equipment
currently used in the UK Ambulance sectors. These regional variations make
up issues of concern nationally, affecting both staff and the general
public.
